Eco-Friendly Cleaning: Tincture Review

Eco-Cleaning

This blog post doesn’t have a decluttering or home organising focus but I just had to share it with you. With so many cleaning products being advertised, from wipes (for just about everything) to sprays and cream cleaners, it’s easy to have more products than you need. Having a few, highly effective, multi-purpose cleaners that are kind to the planet and to you is really all you need.

We have known about the hazards of certain cleaning products for years, both to our health and the environment. Often, the fragrances are the major source of toxicity and manufacturers are not required (shockingly) to list the fragrance ingredients. Phthalates are often used to extend the scent’s duration, but the potential health risks of these are huge. Further research is being conducted into their effects but initial studies have linked exposure to increased cancer risks and human reproductive problems.

I personally don’t like a lot of the scents in normal cleaning products but in the past, I haven’t found eco-cleaners to be as effective as their chemical counterparts. However, there are now a growing number of new, eco-cleaning products which are changing the game. I discovered Method first, and tried their French Lavender Multi-surface cleaner, which I loved and still use all the time!

You may have seen Tincture advertised on Instagram- I was immediately drawn to the crisp, sleek design of their bottles. It’s bold and clever. I’ve never been one to allow cleaning products to grace the worktops of my kitchen but these bottles look so good. I decided to purchase the general purpose, glass mirror steel, and bathroom cleaners, priced at £4.99 each from their website. If you purchase refill bottles, they are slightly cheaper, priced at £3.99. Yes, it’s more than you would normally pay, but for me, knowing that the products I use are kind to the environment, people and pets are so important and therefore worth the extra expense.

Tincture products don’t just look pretty. They really work. The glass mirror steel cleaner is super effective and it did a really impressive job of cleaning my hob. I also found that I didn’t need to use any sprays to achieve a streak-free surface. The carefully selected combination of ingredients makes them incredibly effective, without the need for harsh chemicals. Cedarwood, for example, has antiseptic and antifungal properties and chamomile is naturally antibacterial.

The scents are beautiful, deriving from essential oils and botanical extracts such as bergamot, eucalyptus, and black pepper which make Tincture products a pleasure to use.

I’m certainly a convert. If you are looking for natural, eco-friendly cleaning products that smell incredible, then I’m confident that you too will love Tincture.

If you have tried Tincture or any other eco-friendly brands then I would love to hear from you! You can find the link to all of Tincture’s products by clicking here.
